A board book is a type of book printed directly on thick paperboard then bound and trimmed. The paperboard is printed and used for both the cover as well as the interior pages. Each page panel is a minimum of 2 plies of paperboard. Unlike a typical paper book that is bound with saddle stitching (staples) or perfect binding, a board book's pages are specially scored, folded and bound together after printing. Board books are very durable and consequently great for small children to use and play with so that they can start very early to learn their ABC's, colors and numbers and of course begin their love and appreciation for books that will hopefully last for the rest of their lives. Many best selling titles that were originally published in hard cover or paper formats have been converted to board books. Most of the board books produced in the world are produced in China and Mexico however Pint Size Productions is the one and only board book printing and production facility located in the United States of America.
